Champagne Is My Name

Champagne is my name Champagne is my name, I pop and explode, to froth over edge into empty. I sparkle and shine, originate from the earth, so bring me to party, celebrate me! Share me with friends or have me to yourself, let me settle on tongue to fully taste me. Let me roll down your throat to massage your thoughts, put you at ease, to sever all chains. I may cost a lot but of course I am worth the expense, find me in the fridge or on shelves and imbibe me! Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends… This is the T-shirt and Hoodie I wear, the poster I see on my wall: https://teespring.com/champagne-is-my-name

Unpopular Names

Names come and go, but many just go... * No one names their baby Adolf anymore… * An owner of a name can destroy that name, sullying it around the world, for an extremely long time, maybe forever… * For some reason, no one calls their daughter Fanny anymore * Nor do they call their son Dick * Nor do they call the Sun Dick , unless uncomfortably hot, enraged or mad * Two Dicks don’t make a Fanny (that wasn’t funny Fanny , very immature…) * Is there a reason the name Gertrude has gone out of vogue? * Ronald , John , and Dorothy don’t seem very 2019, do they? * According to the site Bounty.com, the most unpopular names for girls in 2018 were Cecilia , Bridie , and Bonny. http://www.bounty.com/pregnancy-and-birth/baby-names/top-baby-names/baby-names-news-and-trends/girls-names-set-to-disappear-in-2018 While for the boys the most unpopular names were Jago , Macauley , and Leroy http://www.bounty.com/pregnancy-and-birth/baby-names/top-baby-names/ba...

Bike Is My Name

Bike is my name Bike is my name and I’ll ride you to town over the bumps and the bushes. I can sometimes change gears and sprint down the street, or climb a large mountain to cheers. When I feel joy I slip on yellow jersey, and when I feel fast it is green. I can dink you and hit you, guide you through dreams, I can jump through your hoops, if you ask kindly. When I am down I am flat and/or just broken, until I am fixed to spin once again into the trivial and profound daily wheels gliding past churches and scenes Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends… This is the T-shirt and Hoodie I wear, the poster I see on my wall: https://teespring.com/Bike-Is-My-Name

Dada Is My Name: Mini Digest 2

Let’s Start The Naming…. “Sticks and Stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me” Dada laughs into its untruth… Name Fact Until 2009 there was a road named, Butt Hole Road , in Conisbrough, South Yorkshire. Sheep Is My Name

Sheep is my name Sheep is my name, I baa and I bleet, I run and I hide to be brave in reverse. I wool up to be shaved, to be made into fine clothes, or I don’t and get killed for your meals. I eat grass in the fields and dream of sheep cheese, in every good supermarket now for only $8! I’m not unique, who is?, I am a metaphor for timidity and fear. A hero for the downtrodden and weak (not really). I have dogs round me up to corral and annoy me, I have people who try to touch me, or worse, ride on my back or just grab me. I’m cute as a lamb, Mary can vouch for that, when I’m older I’m eaten as mutton, bastards! I always need to see my own kind as I graze, to be in the group at all times unless I want to be killed by the hungry prey. Pray for me, it is not a great life, but it is if I just focus on the next sheep Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends… This is the T-shirt and Hoodie I wear, the poste...

Marcel Duchamp

Marcel Duchamp 1887 – 1968 “I don’t believe in art. I believe in artists” Said Marcel Duchamp or R. Mutt 1917 who used the latter pseudonym and signature for his infamous and iconic dada inspired art work, Fountain . The ‘readymade’ artwork consisted of a standard urinal purchased from a sanitary ware supplier that Duchamp anonymously presented as an art work to the Society of Independent Artists in 1917. They rejected it, dismissing it as an object unworthy of being called ‘art’. Others disagreed:   “Mr Mutt’s fountain is not immoral, that is absurd, no more than a bathtub is immoral. It is a fixture that you see every day in plumbers’ shop windows. Whether Mr Mutt with his own hands made the fountain has no importance. He CHOSE it. He took an ordinary article of life, placed it so that its useful significance disappeared under the new title and point of view – created a new thought for that object.” (Anon., ‘The Richard Mutt Case’, Blind Man, New York, no.2...
