Car Is My Name

Car

is my
name

Car is my name but it used to be carriage
until it was shortened and quickened

I’ve spread faster than disease
for comfort and ease,
I vroom and I broom, A to B

I use many
roads that always need to be fixed,
I eat and I drink
diesel, petrol or gas

I light up at night,
I flash and I moon,
I skid and I brake
and when in the mood
I like doughnuts.

I get registered, smashed,
always need
to be serviced,
fixed and maintained,
come and fine me

I can be bought new for big dollars
or used for big and small dollars
bring out your card or iPhone while
I vomit and roar, smoke and/or hiss,
take pictures as I leak and I purr,
come check me out, open my door, come inside me.

Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends…
This is the T-shirt and Hoodie I wear, the poster I see on my wall:

Stairs Is My Name

Stairs is my name Stairs is my name, you’ll climb Up and Down me, I layer up to transport and transform you To the top of whatever, Point A to Point B, less likely to slip like my friend Hill. I’m mostly hard, built full of concrete, sometimes I am wood, sometimes I am cracked, decomposing. I rhyme with chairs, not sure why I wrote this, Heaven awaits when you reach me!
