John

is my

name

 

John is my name, I used to be famous,

but now you’ll be lucky to see me.

My youth has been culled, I’m fading away,

although my legacy is HUGE,

just ask my friend Lennon

or you could go way way way back

to the Bible,

where my intentions are clear, my name

splashed over many pages,

John the Baptist

“Hello, I can speak English”

My name can be anonymous and common

if you pair me with Smith,

but pair me with anyone

and I’ll be there (whatever that means…)

They say “Johnny be good”

and I exclaim,

“I’m trying!”

so then they start telling stupid jokes

in my name,

“Little Johnny…”

But I rise above that,

I am omniscient and strong,

John is my name,

I am with you

or

“Nice to meet you”

or

‘Peace be with you’

Stairs Is My Name

  Stairs is my name Stairs is my name, you’ll climb Up and Down me, I layer up to transport and transform you To the top of whatever, Point A to Point B, less likely to slip like my friend Hill. I’m mostly hard, built full of concrete, sometimes I am wood, sometimes I am cracked, decomposing. I rhyme with chairs, not sure why I wrote this, Heaven awaits when you reach me! André Breton

“The man who cannot visualize a horse galloping on a tomato is an idiot.” A man most associated with surrealism, Breton was also a Dadaist in his early years (whatever a Dadaist really means). The French writer was a champion of a shared Dada/Surrealist method called automatism where creative works are mostly produced spontaneously without constraints, planning, and overly conscious thoughts. After a brief medical career, where he took a major interest in mental illness, Breton moved to Paris where he would soon join the Dada movement and play a major part in its beginnings in France.
