John Is My Name

John is my name   John is my name, I used to be famous, but now you’ll be lucky to see me. My youth has been culled, I’m fading away, although my legacy is HUGE, just ask my friend Lennon or you could go way way way back to the Bible, where my intentions are clear, my name splashed over many pages, John the Baptist “Hello, I can speak English” My name can be anonymous and common if you pair me with Smith, but pair me with anyone and I’ll be there (whatever that means…) They say “Johnny be good” and I exclaim, “I’m trying!” so then they start telling stupid jokes in my name, “Little Johnny…” But I rise above that, I am omniscient and strong, John is my name, I am with you or “Nice to meet you” or ‘Peace be with you’ Photo by Dim 7 on Unsplash

Late Is My Name

Late is my name   Late is my name, It’s never… oh damn, it is me running to get something… oh well, it’s too Late, but I’m coming when the Sun goes on down and I get all up but then everyone has already gone home. “It’s getting Late” someone says “but how do you get me? you’ll never reach me because long ago you already gave up” “Better Late than Never!” Some people say but It think that’s unfair to my good friend who is Never ; forgotten like he doesn’t exist. It’s Late, so I’m free, away from the crowd, Late is my name, it’s worth waiting! Photo by Filip Mroz on Unsplash

Shower Is My Name

Shower is my name   Shower is my name, I come from above to go down on you, a continuous flow of my love. I’m best enjoyed hot, or hot-warm, although I can get quite cold to be invigorating or freezing, you just have to choose the type of juice that comes from me. I’m in every home – well most, nearly all – it’s a measure of how much I am loved! I can be short, but I feel best when long, I can get steamy and soak you! I can give you many gifts especially when you ask, “Can you Shower me with gifts?!” But mostly I’m hot and cold liquid from pipes that lead to my head or a sprinkle of rain on your head. Yes Is My Name

Yes is my name Yes is my name, and no I won’t help you, if you say my name many times I may hurt you. I can be much overrated, a robotic reply, an answer that nearly everyone wants to hear. “Can I have candy?” “Yes, as much as you like and Yes I am awesome for just saying Yes!” But too many Yes’s can make someone dull   and conversely   make someone shunned for too many No’s… By the way, No is my brother from another Mother, and we love to play with each other! Yes can be cheerful, or meekly sang, coerced or reluctantly won. I come in many shades, you just have to listen and look, I may not be what you are thinking. Three little letters, one mighty syllable, Yes is my name, Say My Name To Me! Photo by Drahomír Posteby-Mach on Unsplash

Tennis Is My Name

Tennis is my name Tennis is my name, I love to hit balls, specifically those designed for me. I make winners, smash aces, and play lots of strokes, to win a point, win a game, or a big set. But I particularly yearn for Match Point, where, if I play really well, I can win “Game, Set, and Match!” although Championship Point is my dream. I love to use my big  racket to stroke those fine balls, pounding them in to all corners. I don’t mind some grass, just ask Wimbledon, we enjoy a great fortnight of beauty and sets. Deuce and Love I do like, Advantage, much better, I love all the world where I’m played. I take lots of shots,   I play many games, Tennis is my name, Come and Win Me!
