Square Is My Name

Square
is my
name

Square is my name, I’m even all sides, balanced
by four straight lines, any colour.
If you’re a kid, put a triangle on my head,
and call me a house, but don’t call me ‘Square’
as I know not many of you
want to be seen as like me. A square is uncool,
does too much and too well,
a square is for shapes and mathematical equations.
What is 2 squared? If you don’t know, that is cool,
now I forgot what I’m saying?
Boxes and cubes, frames and great windows,
and Rectangle shares in many of this,
a brother and sister who is almost me,
our blood is the same but Rectangle is just not
all even.
Even or Odd, whatever my friend,
Square is my name,
draw around or inside me
(I was going to say ‘come
around or inside me’
but I didn’t want to give
the wrong impression)

Stairs is my name Stairs is my name, you’ll climb Up and Down me, I layer up to transport and transform you To the top of whatever, Point A to Point B, less likely to slip like my friend Hill. Stair ways, wells, and cases, however you need me, Stairs Is My Name, Take The First STEP And Embrace ME! Photo by Maxime Lebrun on Unsplash
