Coffee Is My Name

Coffee
is my
name

Coffee is my name, I’m black or I’m white,
and I sometimes get caramelly.

My various names and nicknames include:
Flat White, Cappuccino, Short and Long Black,
Latte and Affogato.

When I mix with Hot Chocolate
we name our child, Mocha,
chocolate and coffee divine.

You can filter me through
various contraptions,
you can add all sorts of milks,
sugar, syrups, etcetera.

I can be fruity, dark chocolate,
spicy and burnt,
depending on origin, roast time,
and how you make me.

I’ve become trendy, expensive,
everyone’s obsession to drink,
Café is based on me, the French
word for my name.

 I make people happy, alert,
aroused and more focused,
I quicken hearts and minds
literally.

So brew me up, or just takeaway,
I’m here to stay, come and drink me!

Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends…

Stairs Is My Name

Stairs is my name Stairs is my name, you’ll climb Up and Down me, I layer up to transport and transform you To the top of whatever, Point A to Point B, less likely to slip like my friend Hill. I’m mostly hard, built full of concrete, sometimes I am wood, sometimes I am cracked, decomposing. I rhyme with chairs, not sure why I wrote this, Heaven awaits when you reach me! André Breton

“The man who cannot visualize a horse galloping on a tomato is an idiot.” A man most associated with surrealism, Breton was also a Dadaist in his early years (whatever a Dadaist really means). The French writer was a champion of a shared Dada/Surrealist method called automatism where creative works are mostly produced spontaneously without constraints, planning, and overly conscious thoughts. After a brief medical career, where he took a major interest in mental illness, Breton moved to Paris where he would soon join the Dada movement and play a major part in its beginnings in France. Breton appeared in the first Dada performance in Paris in early 1920 which was the start of many provocations and controversies during that same year and in the years directly after. One of these performances included Breton appearing with a revolver tied to each of his temples. “I do not think that the nature of the finished product is more important than the choice between cake and cher...
