Smoke Is My Name

Smoke is my name Smoke is my name, go on, smoke me! draw me in, to breathe me straight out at your great risk, puff and a huff your smoke rings. Where I am, there is fire, I grey up the clouds, I stink up the sky with my hurling. It can be hard to see through me, when I take up all space, I spread far and wide like an unwelcome intruder, a contagious disease. I come in all flavours, tobacco and weed, I’m now more than despised publicly. But I’ll always be lurking, too hard to hide, Smoke is my name, come and smoke me! Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends… This is the T-shirt and Hoodie I wear, the poster I see on my wall: https://teespring.com/smoke-me-now

Blue Is My Name

Blue is my name Blue is my name and I like to paint sea’s while splashing around in the sun. I glitter or fade depending on moods, I sparkle when playing with friends in The Great Light. I colour many waters when cloudless and sunny, I play up the moon with my ease. They say I favour boys but that’s not true. Though nothing is true. When people are sad, they call my name and I refuse to be drawn into answers; Instead I point to myself in the sky. I’m not vain but I’m vein but I’m also vain so don’t cut me or I’ll scream! They’ve named a cheese in my honour as well as suggesting I’m naughty, explicit or rude (in particular the movies which I swear I’ve never seen). Some balls are me or pretend to be but my berries are extra sweet. Elvis sang about my shoes and my collared workers. When you are cold don’t turn me, just melt me into your arms like a Hollywood movie. I’m a whale, I’m a bird, but I’m not superman I’m blue and I’m blue ...

Sign Is My Name

Sign is my name Sign is my name, I represent something, I symbolise more than I say. “It’s a sign!” they might exclaim looking up to the sky, dancing on the grass, 14 th century. Paint me and brush me, put words in my mouth, stick me on wood or a pole. I am many colours, I warn and I scream or I just might whisper a gentle reminder. I might tell you where to go, and how far it is, I might save your life or just be a nuisance. I can tell you where to piss or a poo if you must, I climb over walls sometimes flashing. I love the attention, stand in snow, hail or rain, I’ll be anywhere, come and read me! Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends… This is the T-shirt and Hoodie I wear, the poster I see on my wall: https://teespring.com/sign-me

Crap Is My Name

Crap is my name Crap is my name, sometimes it’s the world but mostly it’s what you perceive to receive. I get taken and dumped, wiped over walls, described in multiple judgements. I’m rubbish, I’m shit, but so are all poo, if they don’t like it they call out my name as an insult. My origin may be Dutch ‘krappen’ to pluck off or cut off or maybe from the French ‘crappe’ siftings, waste, or rejected matter. But it doesn’t matter, because I am Crap, shake my hand, you won’t? But you are also Crap , don’t take the high road when you are already travelling the low one. That’s Crap, I’m Crap, you’re Crap, everyone and everything is Crap, hello my friend, Crap to meet you Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends… This is the T-shirt and Hoodie I wear, the poster I see on my wall: https://teespring.com/really-crap

Coat Is My Name

Coat is my Name Coat is my name, put me on warm, I’ll protect you from the outside. I’ll layer you up, hug all your clothes, handle the rain, whisper to it. I’ll shield you from my friend Snow while deterring the wind with my fleece. You can put me inside, caress me with heat, hang me on lines – but don’t forget me. I’m woollen, I’m thick, I’m thin, I’m Dri-FIT Sometimes artificial and cheap come and buy me! Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends… This is the T-shirt and Hoodie I wear, the poster I see on my wall: https://teespring.com/coat-me

Wind Is My Name

Wind is my name Wind is my name, I blow through the trees, I blow through these clichés to sing. When it’s still you forget me to play with the clouds or the sun but you can’t hurt me, I come everywhere. You can’t chase me, I’m too fast, I’m no pushover, I push over objects and trees, with invisible melodies of wonder. I’m in the willows and chimes, I fan fantasises, I drive rain and hail indiscriminately. I’m cold and I’m warm, ageless and free, I get blamed for your moods and disorders. Mini Digest 9

Let’s Start The Naming…. When you are already here you appear to be only a name that tells of you whether you are present or not (W.S. Merwin, First Lines from the Poem, To the Light of September ) Name Fact A name that is commonly used by male, female and non-identifying genders is called a unisex name . It can also be called an androgynous name or an epicene name Quote of the Day “It's poor judgment', said Grandpa 'to call anything by a name. We don't know what a hobgoblin or a vampire or a troll is. Could be lots of things. You can't heave them into categories with labels and say they'll act one way or another. That'd be silly. They're people. People who do things. Yes, that's the way to put it. People who *do* things.” (Ray Bradbury,  The October Country ) What Name Is It? 1.      Any of numerous limbless, scaly, elongate reptiles of the suborder Serpentes, comprising venomous and nonvenomous species inhab...

Hannah Höch

Hannah Höch “I would like to show the world today as an ant sees it and tomorrow as the moon sees it” Painting   By Chris Lebeau; photograph by Ronn - Drents Museum, Assen; Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=46027940 Known for her political collages and photomontages, Hannah Höch, born as Anna Therese Johanne Höch, is one of only a few recognised female Dada artists associated with the movement. While it was a challenging environment for a female artist in the early part of the twentieth century, Höch demonstrated her skill, wit, and genius through her art which would later become much more respected than it was at the time. In 1917 she became associated with the Berlin Dada group after meeting artist and writer Raoul Hausmann who would later become her lover. Höch and the group were notorious for mocking and condemning German culture during World War I with photomontages being a popular way to do this: “They cut up photog...

Grass Is My Name

Grass is my name Grass is my name and I grow where it rains, I grow when I’m cut, I grow when I’m mowed. There’s no stopping me world, I’ll grow through the cracks when you cover me. I’m more entertaining to watch than a white painted wall and sometimes the grass is actually greener on the other side, where the sun and the rain greet me more. I hide all the worms, the dirt and the dead, I hide many things you don’t see. I soften your blow, I take many balls, I sport all your fields so you can all cheer. I sometimes die out without any drink, or when I get poisoned you bastards! Picnic on me and drink wine with cheese, roll around me or eat me. I’m cool when it’s hot, I mix with the weeds, I’m thick or I’m thin come down and find me!   Now time for my anti-dada moment that I share with all my named friends… This is the T-shirt and Hoodie I wear, the poster I see on my wall: https://teespring.com/don-t-cut-my-grass
